Purpose There are no specific tests for diagnosing Kawasaki disease (KD). Additional diagnostic criteria are needed to prevent the delayed diagnosis of incomplete Kawasaki disease (IKD). This study compared the frequency of coronary artery lesions (CALs) in IKD patients with and without anterior uveitis (AU) and elucidated whether the finding of AU supported the diagnosis of IKD. MethodsThis study enrolled patients diagnosed... |

Purpose : S. pneumoniae is one of major pathogens of community-acquired respiratory infections. The rate of antibiotic resistance to this organism has increased, and resistance to multiple antimicrobial agents in a single strain of S. pneumoniae may compromise the efficacy of empiric antimicrobial treatment commonly used for respiratory infections. We did this study to find out the penicillin resistant distributions... |

Diffuse panbronchiolitis(DPB) is a chronic inflammatory airway disease predominantly affecting respiratory bronchioles, with distinct clinicopathological profiles. It was first described in 1966 by Yamanaka et al. The etiology of DPB is not yet clear, and the natural history of the disease is respiratory failure leading to cor pulmonale and ultimately death. But the long-term use of low-dose macrolide has proven... |

Four newborn infants with hyperbilirubinemia, caused by ABO blood group incompatibility, were treated with high-dose intravenous immune globulin (IVIG).
As soon as the diagnosis was clinically suspected, these infants received conventional treatment including phototherapy and were monitored closely for bilirubin levels. When bilirubin concentrations reached the risk point in spite of pjototherapy, IVIG was given at a dose of 1g/kg for... |
